Paul has extensively worked both nationally and internationally in Theatre and Opera Set Design.

 

He was nominated Best Set Designer at the International Opera Awards 2013.

 

Recent set design credits include Dr Dee, which first premiered at the Manchester International Festival and then subsequently for the English National Opera at the London Coliseum Theatre.

 

Other design credits include Falstaff (Hackney Empire), A Dinner Engagement and

Le Roi L'a Dit (Morley Opera), Chicago and My Fair Lady (Cyprus

International Festival).

 

He has collaborated with Ian MacNeil and Stephen Daldry on Billy Elliot the Musical productions worldwide, An Inspector Calls (Broadway, Tokyo and UK Tour), Machinal (National Theatre), The Editing Process, A Number and This is a Chair (Royal Court Theatre).

 

 

As an Associate Designer he has worked along side many designers on various productions including, Scott Pask (The Book of Mormon at The Prince of Wales and Finding Neverland, Leicester Curve), Anthony Ward (My Fair Lady, National Theatre and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, London Palladium), Mark Thompson (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Drury Lane, Bombay Dreams, London Apollo and Once in a Lifetime, National Theatre), Bob Crowley (Once the musical, Phoenix Theatre, Love Never Dies, Adelphi Theatre, Mary Poppins, Bristol Hippodrome and Prince Edward Theatre and A Moon for the Misbegotten, The Old Vic Theatre) and Robert Jones for The Sound of Music and The Wizard of Oz, London Palladium.

 

He has spent significant time at the National Theatre as a resident Design Associate, productions include: The Light Princess, Mourning Becomes Electra, Jerry Springer the Opera, Jumpers, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Duchess of Malfi, Noises Off and Closer.
